What is a Domain Name?
A Domain Name is an address on the Internet. For example: World Wide Web Communications domain name is wwwcomm.com.
What is allowed in a Domain Name?
The only characters allowed in a Domain Name are the 26 letters of the standard alphabet, numbers 0-9, and hyphens(-). A Domain cannot begin or end with a hyphen, but it can contain a hyphen. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, also know as ICANN, serves as the governing body for Domain Name registrations. The most common domain extensions are .COM, .NET, and .ORG. Some other popular domain extensions are .BIZ, .INFO and .WS.
Where can I register a new Domain Name(s)?
You may registered your new Domain Name(s) at http://register.wwwcomm.com. By registering a new Domain Name at this website, your new Domain Name will be registered using our specified Technical Contact and Name Servers.
Who owns my Domain Name?
The organization or the person listed in the "WHOIS" as the Administrator is considered the owner for the length of the contract period.
Where will my Domain Name reside?
If you register your Domain Name at http://register.wwwcomm.com, your Domain Name will be registered to reside on World Wide Web Communications name servers.
The Domain Name I want is not available, but doesn't seem to be in use. Can I register it?
No, if a Domain Name is unavailable you cannot register the Domain Name.
The Domain Name I want has expired, or is about to expire. Can I register it?
If the Domain Name has expired, certain registrars will place the Domain Name on hold for a period of time which can vary between a few weeks and a few months. If the Domain Name is about to expire, you will not be able to register the Domain Name until the Registrar states that it is available for registration.
How can I correct or update my Domain Name information, such as a telephone number or e-mail address listed in the WHOIS?
You can login to your Registrar's website and update the contact information. (It is best to keep this information as update to date as possible.)
Can I change the ownership of my Domain Name? How?
Yes, depending on who your Domain Name is registered with. In order to change ownership there are different steps for each Registrar to follow. Please contact your Registrar for complete details.
I want to host my website with World Wide Web Communications. how do I move my Domain Name(s) from another web hosting company to World Wide Web Communications?

I want to host my Domain Name at another company. How do I change the DNS information for my Domain Name(s)?
This process is sometimes referred to as transferring a Domain Name or modifying a Domain Name. To transfer the Domain Name please contact your new hosting company for directions.
World Wide Web Communications requires notification by e-mail, postal mail or fax at least thirty (30) days in advance of your intent to transfer your Domain Name(s). World Wide Web Communications will reject any domain modification requests submitted without notification.
