Catelli Brothers is a packer of veal and lamb products. With a rich 50+ year history, the company custom-cuts, trims and packs high quality and safe veal and lamb products based on exact portion control specifications. Its sells its products primarily to food service customers who distribute to retail food stores and restaurants nationwide.

Challenge

Catelli Brothers wanted an attractive, functional Recipe Section developed for their new web site, which would highlight the numerous ways consumers (and restaurants) could use veal and lamb products in meals.

Solution

Catelli Brothers engaged us to not only develop a new web site for them but also develop a custom, full-featured Recipe Section that enables consumers to find just the right recipe with an easy-to-use, smart search feature.

Featured recipe and a powerful search feature on the first page

• Along with the full-featured search tool, visitors are immediately presented with a featured recipe displayed on a recipe card with a photo of the finished dish, list of ingredients and preparation directions.

Recipe search provides a simple and effective way of to find just the right recipe since all the steps necessary are included in one simple-to-use search.

• Choose to search lamb, veal or both.
• Choose to search one or multiple categories.
• Enter an optional keyword to narrow search results for more specific recipes.
• The search tool is on every page so there is no need to go back to perform subsequent searches.

Search results that make sense

• Search results show recipe name, brief description and cook time so anyone searching will know right away if the recipe is what they are looking for.
• Every search recipe listed in the search results has a Show Similar Results link that makes it easy to narrow the search to recipes that fall under the same criteria.
• A paging system at the top and bottom of the results makes it easy to browse forward and back through the pages or jump to a specific page.

Recipe cards display everything about the recipe with features that add convenience.

• All recipes are displayed with the full list of ingredients, preparation instructions, serving size, and preparation times.
• Each recipe has printer-friendly recipe cards and shopping lists of ingredients that are ready to send to the printer at a click of a button.
• It is easy to share the recipe with anyone by using the Email Recipe to a Friend feature.

Self administration makes it simple for anyone to maintain.

• This full-featured recipe section is easily maintainable by anyone regardless of his or her computer experience. Everything including categories, photos, preparation times and instructions can be easily maintained because we set up a self administration area that makes it as simple as copy and paste.
